At Milnes Ford, being part of the Lapeer community means more than helping people find the right vehicle. It means showing up for local families, supporting community traditions, and doing our part to help our neighbors.

This season, that community commitment shows up in a few important ways.

Milnes Ford is proud to be a sponsor of the Lapeer Days fireworks, we are partnering with Stone Soup Food Bank for a September Fill the Truck Food Drive, and this is also the last month to enter the Neighbors Helping Neighbors drawing for a $100 Country Market gift card.

If you have been looking for a simple way to support local families in Lapeer County, September is a great time to do it.

Milnes Ford Is Proud to Sponsor the Lapeer Days Fireworks

Lapeer Days is one of the best-loved community events of the year, and Milnes Ford is proud to support it as a sponsor of the Lapeer Days fireworks.

Events like Lapeer Days help bring the community together. Families gather downtown, friends reconnect, local businesses get involved, and the whole area gets to enjoy a tradition that means a lot to Lapeer County.

At Milnes Ford, we are proud to support the events that help make this community feel like home.

So if you are heading to Lapeer Days, be sure to enjoy the fireworks — and know that Milnes Ford is proud to be part of making that celebration possible.

September Fill the Truck Food Drive at Milnes Ford

As summer wraps up and families start moving into the fall season, the need for local food support continues.

That is why Milnes Ford is partnering with Stone Soup Food Bank for our September Fill the Truck Food Drive.

Throughout the month of September, we are collecting non-perishable food items at Milnes Ford and working to fill the bed of an F-150 to help support local families.

Food Drive Dates

September 1–30, 2026

Drop-Off Location

Milnes Ford
333 E. Genesee St.
Lapeer, MI 48446

What to Bring

We are collecting non-perishable food items to help support Stone Soup Food Bank and the families they serve.

Examples of helpful donation items may include:

  • Canned vegetables
  • Canned fruit
  • Soup
  • Pasta
  • Rice
  • Peanut butter
  • Mac and cheese
  • Boxed meals
  • Cereal
  • Shelf-stable foods

If it is non-perishable and family-friendly, it can help.

Help Us Fill the Bed of an F-150

We wanted this food drive to be visible, fun, and easy for the community to support.

So the goal is simple:

Help us fill the bed of an F-150 with non-perishable food items.

As the donations come in throughout September, we will be collecting them at Milnes Ford and encouraging the community to help us load up the truck.

It is a simple visual reminder that when a lot of people each give a little, it adds up to something meaningful.

This is about helping local families, supporting Stone Soup Food Bank, and giving people a way to directly make a difference right here in Lapeer.

Bring in 10 Food Items and Get Entered to Win

There is also a little extra incentive to participate.

When you bring in 10 non-perishable food items, you will receive 1 entry for a chance to win:

  • 4 Detroit Lions tickets
  • 1 parking pass
  • 1 $300 gift card

That means every donation helps in two ways:

  1. It helps support local families through Stone Soup Food Bank.
  2. It gives you a chance to win a great prize package.

Of course, the biggest win is helping neighbors in our community, but a Detroit Lions prize package definitely makes donating even more exciting.

This Is Also the Final Month for the Neighbors Helping Neighbors Drawing

September is also the last month for the Neighbors Helping Neighbors drawing with The Country Market.

Milnes Auto Group and The Country Market created this program as a way to thank the local community for its support while giving people a chance to win a food gift card that also ties back into helping local families.

The Prize

One local winner will receive a:

$100 gift card to The Country Market

Drawing Details

  • The drawing will be held on the last business day of the month

It is a great example of how a dealership can be more than just a place to buy or service a vehicle.

It can be a place that helps connect community support, local partnerships, and practical ways to give back.

Why This Matters

Programs like these matter because families in every community go through hard times.

Food insecurity is real. Local food banks matter. Community organizations matter. Local businesses working together matter.

When a dealership, a food bank, and community partners like The Country Market come together, the result is something bigger than a promotion.

It becomes a way to:

  • Support local families
  • Encourage community involvement
  • Increase awareness of local needs
  • Make giving feel easy and accessible
  • Strengthen the relationships that help communities thrive

That is the kind of involvement Milnes Ford is proud to support.
